Caveat: Poesy does NOT pay the bills

Posted by late4antiquity on April 14, 2008

Lest you should wind up in the gutter, as I am likely to be soon enough.

Carm. I, I, 1.

If made to engage in labor
sartorial,
I'd peddle bronze wreaths
& pale
wilted laurels.

For what is now voguish, my dear
is like redolent sorrel.

Whereas Dignitas bears
Virtue perfumed & floral.
